Why does someone dislike Google? The answer is very simple. At Google, there is a comprehensive consumer surveillance that breaches privacy of online users. For this reason, Google has been criticized on many instances. However, Ask.com is taking a different approach to protect privacy of the online users.

According to Search Engine Land, Ask.com is very soon release a privacy tool called ‘AskEraser’ that would allow users to use its search engine anonymously.

The search giant allows users to set AskEraser settings in their privacy preferences so that they will know the privacy status of their searches at any time. To make it more effective, the company is brining searches’ privacy settings on the search result pages.

With the announcement of AskEraser, Ask.com is on its way to become the major search engine to empower the customers to have command over prevent retention of their search history. The new tool will be available in US and UK by the end of 2007 and worldwide next year.
