The latest Web 2.0 issue around the Australian newspapers and online outlets is that Victoria, the second most populous state in Australia, has decided to ban the online video sharing site YouTube from the government schools in an attack on cyber-bullying.
Under the process, YouTube will be banned in 1,600 government-owned schools owing to the fact that a group of male students posted on YouTube their assault on a 17-year-old girl on the outer reaches of Melbourne.
I am not sure whether this step will do any good to stop bullying since you can’t change the mentality this way. Anyway, that will surely be a setback for YouTube.
