In an attempt to “to make Facebook simpler, more flexible, and to make our network structure more relevant,” it has been given a facelift now. The new changes in the redesigned page are a result of the community feedback.
Facebook had earlier launched the Facebook Sneak Preview where they wanted the Facebook community to know about the intended upcoming designs. Earlier, Facbook was plagued by the problem of ‘Feed’ system that let everyone know the overall summary of your interaction with your friends. The community’s protest worked as a medicine for Facebook and they came to know the value of users’ feedback. At the Sneak Preview, users shared their thoughts about the new design of the site.
The new design emphasizes on three notes, the simplified site navigation, fusing ‘My Shares’ and ‘My Messages’ into an ‘Inbox’ and simplified network pages. Earl;ier the navigation options were all on the top but in the new make, they have incorporated navigation drop-down menus on the top while the other features like photos, groups, notes etc. have been placed on the left.
Adding the social aspect to Networks might prove good for the site. Well, the redesigned site is easy to use and the most important thing is that they now understand the importance of involving the community.
