The shocking news is that search industry pundit Danny Sullivan has quit Search Engine Watch as well as Search Engine Strategies. This has aroused some serious conversations all over. Why is this sudden decision to quit something what had been his playing field all these years?

We can recall here that way back in the late 90s Danny sold Search Engine Watch to Jupiter and Jupiter then sold it to Incisive Media. It seems that Danny’s unhappiness over this has led him not to pursue renewing his contract with Incisive.

Why I say so is because Danny had to say this;

If my departure was only about making more money, staying with Incisive would have been the more “sure thing” move. Goodness knows they’ve got no end to conferences they want to do, and I could have been involved in many more than I do already. But if I’m going to do something, I’m going to put my all into it, my entire being and soul.

Could this really be the reason? What is the real story that ended up with Danny parting ways?
