We know the fact that the gay, lesbian and bisexual people make use of social networks more than that of straight people. Well, a lawsuit has been filed against the popular online dating service eHarmony as the site turned down to entertain gays, lesbians and bisexuals with its service.
The lawsuit was filed on the basis of ‘discrimination based on sexual orientation’ in the Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf of Linda Carlson, a gay who was not allowed to user eHarmony’s services. eHarmony, which was started in 200 by Christian Dr. Neil Clark Warren, has good links with the prominent religious conformists group ‘Focus on the Family.’
On the issue of denial of the site’s services, Linda Carlson stated:
Such outright discrimination is hurtful and disappointing for a business open to the public in this day and age.
Carlson lawyer Todd Schneider said:
This lawsuit is about changing the landscape and making a statement out there that gay people, just like heterosexuals, have the right and desire to meet other people with whom they can fall in love.
Well, eHarmony has more than 12 million registered users and is one of the country’s leading Internet dating sites. If she wins the case, I think the doors of eHarmony would be opened for all the gay, lesbian and bisexual people.
