User/Sumitter website for commercial Digg gaming

We all knew the existence of Digg gamers and the cabals that have virtually hijacked how Digg operates. I carried out couple of stories on the dark side of Digg, and how it is rigged.

Now, going through Richard MacManus’ revealing post, I find myself quite amused. I can’t help but wonder just like him why this can’t happen to del.ico.us or Netscape etc. Anyway, the story is that the gaming thing in Digg has just become commercial. In fact you can hope to earn if you participate in Digg gaming.

A website called User/Submitter has cropped up. It has two links - one for the diggers and the other for the submitters. It promises real money for digging stories that will come from the submitters who want their stories to be dugg.

The Submitters’ page says the following:

Cost: $20, plus $1 per Digg.

After completing the form below, you will be taken to PayPal. Once your PayPal payment is received, your Digg submission will be given to User/Submitter users to promote on Digg.com.

User/Submitter users are then given the chance to digg your submission and other stories for $0.50. After your submission has reached your desired number of diggs, you will be emailed a report.

We cannot guarantee that your submissions will hit the front page of Digg. We reserve the right to reject or cancel any submission for any reason.

If User/Submitter is unable to fulfill your requested number of verified diggs within 48 hours, you will be refunded the amount of Diggs paid for but not received within 5 working days.

All User/Submitter transactions are private.

The Users’ page has a form, and promised 50 cents per Digg.

Richard doubts whether this will work anyway, but I guess given the way things are going on in Digg, there is a potential for money to be made. However, if the changes that Kevin Rose promised are going to take place soon, it will obviously flop.

It all depends on how fast changes are made in such sites. After Digg, del.ico.us, or even reddit can give people such ‘enterprising’ ideas.
