Digg is up for sale if the rumors are to be believed. This San Francisco -based startup has been in recent acquisition discussions with a number of companies ‘including News Corp.’ and with many other interested buyers.
The Digg is looking at least $150 million. But it is like walking on a sharp edge for Digg as if the buyer starts censoring the posts submitted on Digg then this might break Digg.
Digg needs to find the right buyer. A business is in it for the money, and the right buyer needs to create any more conflict with the ‘democratic social news system’ than it has already experienced.
We can only hope that the new buyer doesn’t tweaks Digg much and let it remain a free and independent site to share views.
