Keeping with the movie download biz, the news is that Walt Disney has revealed that it has sold 125,000 movies through Apple’s iTunes store in less than a week that amounted to $1 million in revenues.
According to Disney CEO Robert Iger, Disney expects no less $50 million in revs in the first year itself. We may recall that Disney is the only studio selling films on iTunes so far, and also the first studio to agree to sell television shows on iTunes in 2005.
Excellent news for Disney, Apple and all those who are eyeing to jump into the movie download business.
Ok, so how much is Apple gaining from this arrangement? It would be rather interesting to know that.
