Facebook recently announced that it would be unveiling its new advertising strategy on November 6th. This come son the heels of a rumor that Google’s social network, Orkut will be unleashing a set of new features to give the social network leverage into untapped markets such as US. The description or the details of the new features of Orkut are not yet known, but the date of announcement by Facebook seems to be a more strategic one since Orkut was rumored to launch its additional features on 5th November.

But, Google has allegedly announced the delay of its features for Orkut by about a week or so. News sources claim that Google needed more time to integrate and test the features before they are launched officially.
Maybe Google doesn’t want to make its launch superseded by Facebook’s launch of the ad system which is almost similar to Google’s Adsense. Google may have seen its launch of its open platform being superseded by the 240Million $ deal and announcement by Facebook (and Microsoft). The announcement of the 240 million $ deal came on the same day as Google announced its Gphone. Facebook took away the limelight from Gphone despite some hi-fi talk from Google officials.
The Adsense version of Facebook has been nicknamed SocialAds by many followers of the Facebook strategy.
