facebook to attract non english people

After beating MySpace in UK and Canada, Facebook is now planning to provide its social networking features to the non-English speaking people in the world. For which, it will come up with non-English versions.

As said, it would be a resounding step by Facebook for strong international growth, which otherwise has primarily concentrated in English-speaking countries.

As of now, we are not communicated about the languages that Facebook has selected for the translation. I guess Facebook will probably launch Spanish, German, French, or Italian versions, because MySpace has already these versions.

Recently, Facebook has claimed number one position in UK beating MySpace in August this year. Facebook singed up more than 6.5 million unique visitors while the latter registered 6.4 million unique visitors, according to Nielsen and NetRatings. Bebo is in the third place with 4.4 million visitors.

Facebook registered nearly 12 million unique visitors in Canada in August against 10 million for MySpace during the same month.

Upbeat Mark Zuckerber, the Founder and CEO of Facebook says,

Translation at some level is definitely on our radar. International growth is one of a few things that we are very focused on right now.

Interestingly, Microsoft is keen to invest $10bn in Facebook. If it happens, Facebook will get enough financial support for further expansion.
