In the latest series of fundings the Glam media got $18.5 million from the investors. The Duff Ackerman and Goodrich Ventures lead from the front in this latest funding round. Glam is a women oriented site and if you take a look at the trend the ‘PopSugar’ also a women oriented site also managed a healthy $5 million funds.
The site which was launched in 2005 basically offers news and views on fashion trends, Celebes and shopping.
The ComScore Media Matrix says that Glam has 7 million unique visitors per month which puts it into top 10 women sites in the world.
Duncan in a through review on this site points out to the fact that Glam is essentially a blog network which has various blogs put together. He further says that if a network like this can get a $18.5 million funding than 9rules funding is totally justified as the latter has got better Alexa rank and has got PR8 homepage where as Glam still has PR7 homepage.
Moreover in Glam’s site to read a story you have to open at least 2-3 pages to get to the story, an old fashion way to increase page views (when are they incorporating AJAX).
Even I will be interested in seeing how many page views than Glam has.
Lets see how best now these funds are utilized now .
