Google said that it will add YouTube videos also in the Google video searches so that the search becomes comprehensive and as Google puts it this will evolve into a service that will help you search the online video content similar to what the Google does now.

But the experts doubt the Google claim as they give the example that image search is based on metadata in the image so the search is not that comprehensive.

Today flicker provides a better option than Google image search. Even the Riya a small start up that Google almost acquired also gives comprehensive results as they actually try to analyze the images when they display results. Google even had to spent time on manual labor of giving tags so as to improve the image search results.

So if the new Google video search is to be considered in this light it is far behind then the AOL who after the acquisition of Truveo have improved there online video search by adding descriptive data also.
Same is the case with CastTV they are also able to find videos that the other search engines fail to locate.

If the Google new video search engine will also be based on the metadata pasted on the video then it will never reach the levels that have been achieved by the above said sites.
There are two options for Google either they can acquire CastTV or have their team work on developing a new search engine code that not only rivals the AOL search engine but also outclasses it. They have the money and the human resource to do it and they can’t and will not allow AOL to take away the best video search engine title for long.
