Google has started to market components of what will be its Office 2.0. It is actually Google Apps for your domain. Google Apps are actually a set of tools targeted to small to medium enterprises. The service provides Gmail, Google Talk, Google Calendar and Google Page Creator under a single CP. Google will host the apps and data free of cost (with Google Ads support of course!).
InformationWeek says that Google will add Writely and Spreadsheet soon to the suite, and even provide tech support.
Sounds fantastic, but Om Malik has brought out in the open something that many potential users might have overlooked. The privacy disclosure was not acceptable to him. So, he says he has changed his mind. Needless to say, the privacy disclosure is not going to be acceptable to many, many potential users who would have otherwise rushed to sign up.
It would be interesting to know your view on this.
