Is it yet another face-off between Google and Yahoo!? Google has inked a major advertising deal with CNN.com announcing itself as the sole provider of pay-per-click text ads at the one of the most visited news sites.

Though the financial details are not disclosed by the companies, it is, no doubt, expected to be a multi-million dollar deal. Anyway, one thing is clear now that the search king will be providing its AdSense advertising program for the contextually relevant, pay-per-click ads at CNN pages.

In an announcement, Google says,

By connecting CNN.com to our valuable base of advertisers, our AdSense program provides an effective and efficient way to monetize quality online content, ultimately benefiting readers, advertisers, and CNN.com.

It is still fresh in our memory when Yahoo! bagged the advertisement deal from CNN beating Google way back 2004. Until now, Yahoo! was the provider of search and advertising service at CNN.com.

With Google winning the deal from CNN.com, Yahoo! must revamp its advertising strategy collaborating with Panama.
