The world’s largest chipmaker Intel has announced that it will lead in assembling a software suite called SuiteTwo that will include blogging, wiki and content syndication software.
SuiteTwo will feature software and tools from Web 2.0 companies that include NewsGator, SimpleFeed, Six Apart and Social Text. This suite is aimed for small to medium-sized enterprises initially. However, Lisa Lambert of Intel’s VC organization Intel Capital said that it would target the high-end enterprise at a later stage.
Ready open source solutions provider SpikeSource will support the suite and will help Intel with its distribution.
This is another indication that Web 2.0 apps have potential beyond the consumer market only and its adaptation can be extremely useful for organizations, and businesses of all sizes. As a company like Intel is focusing on development of enterprise Web 2.0 enterprise suites, it also means that the development of emerging technologies based on AJAX, Ruby on Rails etc will also pick up as we reported before.
