Lets face it De-portalization as coined by Fred Wilson is real.
Chris Anderson mentioned this in a recent post but Keith Teare’s post was direct and brilliantly lays down the concept of growth for ‘longtail’
Keith came out with some interesting observations which are very relevant to what is happening and will happen in the next coming years. His basic concept underlies the fact that ‘Foothills’- smaller web based companies when compared with ‘Mountains’ - Web Portals, will garner maximum internet traffic in the years to come - We have already witnessed the start of this. Maximum revenue will thus be generated by the ‘foothill’. Publishers stand to gain but Portals may lose out if they don’t make progress into the blogosphere and turn into ‘platform’ driven companies. In order to participate in the huge growth of Internet revenues this is essential, as is, providing service to publishers.
I for one completely agree with this. In fact we are all sensing it.

Really? Is this a bad or good news?
Well anyway, here’s a brief update for my fellow car fanatics—
’Everyone thinks General Motors has too many cars for too many brands, and everyone is right. Moreover, cars like this one have fallen out of favor - mostly because those who want to go bigger also go taller, heavier, and truckier - but if there’s still a place in our landscape for whopper sedans, you’ve got to admit that Buick is a fitting place for one to go.Now with its state of the art facilities like that of its Buick Rainier Belts and the like.’
