I can but not stop laughing after reading this story the Federal Court of Australia has said that even linking to the copyrighted material without permission can also lead to copyright infringement.

Sorry BoingBoing I did not asked for your permission before writing this story. The move is the best way to strangulate net and freedom that it gives to users.

Just think for a moment if this was to be implemented what will happen to Google, Wikipedia and blogs as such. This will mean no link backs.

The judgment came in a case against the mp3s4free.com a site that was giving links to the freely available copyrighted MP3 files. The judges deemed that the owner of the site was guilty as he was promoting illegal copyrighted works on his site.

It is important to mention here that Quicksilverscreen was also almost a same website which was giving links to illegal videos on net.

The Internet has evolved it on licensing system called Creative Commons to protect the rights of the original works but looks like if this law gets implemented there will be no sharing of the info. The net will be dead.
