Top10Media today launches Lisensa, a new copyright registration and management service for blogs. It will be like BlogBurst that will help bloggers to syndicate out their content to third parties for using them legally. It depends on the original content owner - the blogger to charge a fee for the content or not. out a fee, to third parties who would like to use it legally.
Lisensa allows bloggers to choose an appropriate Creative Commons license following which choose specific terms for commercial and non-commercial use. Lisensa then manages the license agreement and payment collections. Although Lisensa provide the basic service free it takes 10% of any fees generated through syndication. This is how their revenue model works.
With similar services around - e.g. BlogBurst, which has better management tools, and features like the provision for human reviews, I am not sure whether Lisensa is going to grab a share of the market. However, as there is no stopping in the surge of news blogs coming up every moment, this seems to be a viable idea.
