Another story, were the country is planning to pass a law that will bind the freedom of expression that the blogs enjoy.
The Malaysian government is now thinking of taking a tough stance after a blog published a photo of two Muslim male and female lawmakers who were shot in a compromising position apparently in a hotel room. The male was in bathrobe and female was lying on his chest.
The photo lead to wide resentment as in Shariat law it is considered sin for two opposite sex person to be in close proximity alone.
Deputy Science and technology minister Kong Cho Ha said,
‘We are talking about creating cyber laws to control those who misuse the Internet.”
And accused some (blog) writers for posting controversial articles in order to attract more readers.
He further said,
‘We want our bloggers to be responsible, to keep within the rules and not put up seditious articles that can create disharmony and chaos.’
This photo created a wide spread controversy and lead to a political scandal.
