Microsoft has now given novel fresh looks to its hotmail service that comes integrated with Windows Live. The moment you log into your account, a green button appears that asks you to check the new service. The new layout features an AJAX-based inbox thereby fending off the need to refresh the page again and again to check out your new mail. Not to mention, such functionalities are already offered by Gmail and Yahoo Mail beta. Moreover, you can drag-and-drop messages into folders now.
Other notable features include 2GB of free storage, color codes for suspicious mails, an integrated audio player for listening to mp3 and wav files, spell-check functionality, and the Windows Live Messenger window when you need to chat.. Another notable feature is the integration with Outlook. Similar to the Mozilla Thunderbird, checkboxes come out next to each message when you move the cursor over an e-mail.
Still, many Outlook-like features such as RSS reader, message color-coding, built-in preview of documents etc, is not available with the new Windows Live Hotmail. They are also working on Windows Live Mail beta and the free Microsoft Office Outlook Connector beta.
