Podcasting industry looks to be attracting good funding from the venture capitalists. Now, CA based podcast advertising firm Podbridge has raised $8.5 million in funding from Sutter Hill Ventures and return backers Mayfield and Worldview Technology Partners in the Series B round.

From the advertiser viewpoint, Podbridge helps them to offer targeted ads by considering user demographics, time period, and ability to put ads in select podcasts. Current rivals of the company include Podtrac, RadioTail, and Kliptronic.

I won’t say that Podbridge is not worth the funding but $8.5 million seems too much. The only thing that makes me scratch my head is that what would be their plans now to do full justice to the huge amount.
