Media baron Rupert Murdoch will be delivering the keynote address on October 17 at the Web2.0 Summit, the summit is likely to explore various issues relating to social networking. He will be attending the summit along with MySpace co-founder, Chris DeWolfe.
Murdoch’s News Corp acquired MySpace in July 2005 for $250 million. MySpace is now the most popular social networking site with 106 million users. However, it is now facing strong competition from Facebook, which according to latest report is number one photo site in USA.
Interestingly, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg will also be seen on the same day at the summit. With two bigwigs facing each other, many things about the social networking will be disclosed.
The forthcoming Web2.0 Summit will be held in California on October 17-19, 2007. The summit was supposed to be organized in South Africa. However, it was shifted to USA due to lack of supports in South Africa.
