digg-sign_48Should Digg appear in the Google search results? This very question has started a hot debate lately. Well, the basic question that arises is that ‘What should be given priority, the Digg link or the actual story? Here are my two cents.

Digg is indubitably an interface that can be used with a great ease but where it finds all the content on the basis of which it holds a higher rank in the Google search? Digg just collects the content they find, they haven’t got their own content. So, my point is very clear. Why is the precedence not given to the actual story?

Let’s analyze the stories format in Digg. Digg just displays two or three lines of the actual story along with the link to that story. Digg is just doing the work of a arbitrator to the actual content for which the users are looking for. So, this makes no sense for Google to rank the Digg link higher than that of the actual story.

The Digg links, in no case, should be given higher ranking than the actual source. I firmly believe that the real and actual content should appear in the search engine search not the Digg links.
