Posting content on social networking sites may hamper your future career prospect that what Prof Nigel Smart of Computer science department at the University of Bristol is warning.

His contention is that as more and more people are into social networking sites the content published is being read by all and the content has become more personal in nature where by the writer is sharing his/her most personal secrets with his /her friend list. They are sharing photos and other stuff through sites that are in real life only shared with intimate friends and people are getting too comfy with it.

The content especially on these so called social networking site is then or lets say can be read by your friends, relatives, peers, teachers and even future employers who can make their assessment based on the bragging and the stories that you might have submitted on the site. Hold your breath guys even parents after reading your stories can make out what you are up to at university. That sucks big time man!!

He then points out to the fact that once posted the content can seldom be removed from the web and it will remain their in the form of search engine cache or in the Way Back Machine a archiving system.

It is easy for the person to segregate a person through online content and you need not be Einstein to understand the consequences of the segregation.
