It is the Daily Tube, not YouTube. The tagline is best new videos on the internet. It is indeed. The recently launched the Daily Tube is an aggregator site consists of best new videos of popular online video sites, such as YouTube, MetaCafe, iFilm and Revver.
Michael, the architect of the site explains the motto of the Daily Tube in simple words. He elaborates;
I talked with friends and found they had the same frustrations. So a group of us decided to contribute to a site that was dedicated to combing the web for the best new videos and presenting them to people like us–people who love videos but are a little too busy to spend hours a day searching for them.
Michael and his staff have beautifully arranged the videos in different categories such as Best of Today, Late Nite, Humor, Celebs, Sports, Music, Web Star etc. Each category has selective of videos with brief description. You can rate and re-rate them, comment them and forward them to your friend by email. These are all common features like other video sites.
However, the element of social networking is completely missing in the Daily Tube. I mean you cannot instantly share video along with other social networking functionalities such as blogging, photo sharing and messaging.
