TheCityList recently announced the launch of their beta version for Washington D.C. TheCityList provides weekly rankings for more than 100 different categories, with the incorporation of a Digg-like voting system wherein lists of local venues are created to look into in the city. Those who cast the maximum votes are provided with the uppermost approval ratings, and shift to the top of the list. The lists are provided weekly updating, plus depict the community’s consideration to local venues.

The visitors are allowed to submit their favorite neighborhood places to feed TheCityList. They can also review rankings and voting histories for their favorite places plus they can also cast their vote on their favorite or least favorite places to go. Also the users are allowed to add reviews, quotes, or links from other sites to theCityList.com, all of these are integrated into the directory, built-in with an additional geo-tagged Google map. They have aimed at some niche venue types, like “cool places to visit” and “top condo projects” plus the normal “hot spots” and “night life” types.
