After a tenured professor of religious studies was found to be using a sham identity, the online encyclopedia Wikipedia has now revealed its plans to ask the active contributors to identify themselves. Wikipedia’s founder Jimmy Wales has already commented on this issue. He said:
I have an MA in finance. I could fax a copy of the degree to the office.
Wales had thought upon such plan about two years back but after the productive Wikipedia contributor who was using the name ‘Essjay’ (now retired) was discovered, the need to implement such idea has now gained momentum.
Well, Wikipedia has numerous such mysterious contributors like Essjay, whouse page once read:
My Wikipedia motto is `Lux et Veritas’ (Light and Truth) and I believe more individuals should contribute with an intention to bring light to the community and truth to the encyclopedia.
But, he has really failed to do so or we can say that he was producing truth under the umbrella of falsification.
