The season of acquisitions will never end for big companies. Almost every month these to big software companies like Yahoo,IBM, Microsoft,Oracle and Google acquire any small company. Don’t you think we should award to these companies for their countless acquisitions, they made throughout the year?
Now Yahoo acquired college sports network website rivals.com. As we all know, Mr. Yang took over Yahoo this week .As his first drastic step so far is acquisition of US sports website (rivals.com) to enhance the publishing capacity of Yahoo group significantly. So he has chosen sports lover as his next target audience of Yahoo. Definitely it is not a bad move My Yang!
Rival was launched in 2001. The site give information about American football, basketball and other sports in more than 100 colleges and universities s well as focusing on high school sporting prospects too. Currently Rivals website have 185,000 subscribers, pay about $10 per month to access information on results, drafts and scholarships. The acquisition may immediately boost traffic for Yahoo Sports.I hope, this acquisition will play an important role in building on Yahoo’s mission to connect its users to their communities!
