vaicom_48Viacom, parent firm of cable networks MTV and Nickelodeon has shown its infuriation of not getting an agreement with Google and YouTube after months of talks to let the users access Viacom content by demanding YouTube to remove at least 100,000 “unauthorized” clips. Viacom complained that Google had failed to implement technology to filter unauthorized clips.

Viacom also accepted that they will no longer enjoy the YouTube’s fans that helped in the promotion of many of the Viacom shows. YouTube said that they will go with Viacom’s demands and will remove 30,000 videos from the site. There are some other sites too that are negotiating with YouTube on similar grounds.

Well, though Viacom’s content is quite popular on YouTube, it’s not going to put YouTube in any trouble by any means. All that YouTube has to do is simply search and delete or use some automated procedure for the same. But, why did Viacom went for this? The reason that is mentioned above or was Viacom looking for much more money for its content to be displayed on YouTube?
