We have already come across a number of online video sharing sites that started with an aim to take on YouTube. Many of them failed and a few are still doing good but could’t reach anywhere close to YouTube. Now, French media giant Vivendi is ready to challenge YouTube and MySpace with a startup dubbed ‘Vivendi Mobile Entertainment.’
The team of 80 employees with offices based in Paris will be looked after by Universal Music Mobile head Cedric Ponsot. The new service will be launched in France in the beginning and then will make its way throughout the Europe. The new site will sell music, videos, TV shows and mobile phone content.
Earlier, Vivendi had plans to beat Yahoo but they couldn’t do that. This time, they have taken a stand against YouTube and MySpace and I think, you all know the upshot. Lolz!
