Wikia, selective wiki hosting service founded by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, has now received a major makeover. Now, the site has been launched with an improved design and some cool new features too. Wikia is basically is a collection of community websites that you can edit. All the sites here can be edited and improved by any visitor.

The notable addition is a new WYSIWYG editor that helps for better page editing, the ability to vote on articles and the ability to tag photos. Users now have a new logo and a new skin. It’s up to you if you want to have the original skin only or go for a new skin. Once logging in, you will see smaller ads in the top right corner and you have the option of closing all the boxes together. Moreover, you can even upload YouTube videos for Wikia.

In order to make site navigation easier, they have added some new interactive widgets for publishers to place on their sites so that they can interact with the readers in a healthy way. Try it out.
